Book review : A Dress the Color of the Sky by Jennifer Irwin is an heart touching book.
This is a story of Prudence Aldrich who was in numbing pain after so many dangerous experiences from strangers. She could not let her life with her husband Nick casually due to many reasons which led her blames of irresponsible behaviour and filled her with self-loathing.
Any person who is sexually exploited a number of times that the person forgets how to respect her sexuality is an example of Prudence. She at last takes the help of a rehab at Serenity Hills. There she is assigned in purple group of persons that associates with similar type of problem.
Prudence here experiences a new life and learn to acknowledge her and respect herself despite all the issues. Her therapy helps her to come out of this addiction and face her issues and move forward. Her journey is quite heart - touching.
The author has done a commendable job in bringing such a sensitive issue with such an ease. It brings readers to understand two time frames past and present. Both are intriguing at the same time.
