The World of Science Fiction by Souvik Chakraborty

The World of Science Fiction by Souvik Chakraborty

Book review:

As a science teacher, I like reading about tales of discovery and assumptions. I grabbed, "The World of Science Fiction" and it is a beautiful collection of science tales from different authors.  This book gave me an abundance of introspective ideas and reverberating facts that have the power to change technology.

It is basically a gathering of sci-fi, thus containing cutting-edge stories, for example, trendsetting innovation, Investigation of room, Time travelling and other comparable minds. The speed of the stories varies relying upon the singular styles of the creators. A few stories accompany exaggerated circumstances that keep the reader in a quicker force, while some are more rational.

The editor has meticulously combined all the stories from renowned authors like Jules Verne, H.G. Wells, Stanley G. Weinbaum, and many more. His innovative idea to present varied stories in one book is commendable.

I personally liked "Into the Sun", " In The Abyss", "The Light from Beyond", " Happy Ending" and many more.  I was startled to read about fissures and how these eruptions can deform or form land masses.

Overall, this hefty collection of fifty-one magnificent tales is cutting-edge and bound to evoke a profound feeling of awe and wonder. Highly recommended!

  1. I personally enjoyed Satyajit Roy's science fiction. I don't know if he was ahead of his time or not. It is interesting the authors imagine scenarios that science later proves and executes. I think imagination should be allowed to soar, no matter how absurd or outlandish. Those who stay rooted in logic, never dare to fly.

Beyond Three Generations : The Definitive Guide for Building Enduring Indian Family Businesses by Navas Meeran , MSA Kumar , Firoz Meeran | Book review

Book review : "Beyond Generations" is a captivating and thought-provoking read. This book is a combined effort of authors to bring forward the reasons and major setbacks that led to the failure of the family business over three generations.  This book is a guide to the millions of MSMEs and thousands of larger family businesses on how to build enduring corporations. Written anecdotally, this book is based on twelve case studies of companies from across the country, but those in a league below them, mostly with turnovers of around ₹1000crores. The book draws inspiration from the 5D model of Professor Kavil Ramçhandran of ISB, Hyderabad. 💮 Dilemmas 💮 Destruction  💮 Deviations  💮 Differences 💮 Disputes The book expands on the deduction that most privately run companies lose their sheen and verve after two ages and become a faltering exaggeration of themselves.
