Book review : The Forgotten Palace and the Betrayed Prince

 Book review:

This book is a fictional read that shares a time travel fantasy in a unique style that one cannot stop reading. The story revolves around the protagonist Priya who is MBA student but something weird happened after her grandmother death on her eighteenth birthday.

A six month phase when she was juggling alone with her emotions and loneliness certain things changed her but she hardly remember that phase after so many years except her best friend. When she gets married to Arnav , she comes to Sheesh Mahal where twists and turns begin.

Her spending time in grand library provokes her hidden power of travelling in time and she gets in touch of a parallel world. Some forces bind her to fight for their justice. It's riveting to find out which world she chooses and who becomes her love ?

Certain quote from the book that inspire a lot and put a deep insight to our perspectives I want to share:

📌 " You must learn to control your emotions. "

The author has well penned the time travel of Priya that it was too easy to comprehend the both worlds. The storyline is weaved in an adroit manner. Diving through her rollercoaster ride in both worlds and conflict between choosing her love was riveting and captivating enough that I tried to finish this book in two sittings.

I liked reading this book and would recommend this fantasy book to all.

Happy Reading!

SOMETIMES TO MOVE FORWARD YOU FIRST HAVE TO GO BACK...

Priyadarshini Mathur, a 23 year old management student, is a shy and timid girl who's looking forward to her senior year in ACIM - a top MBA college. But Priya has a secret. Only her best friend knows that when she lost her grandmother on her eighteenth birthday, something weird had happened to her. Priya does not remember anything of six month phase right after her granny's death, a period when she had lost contact with everyone. She also gets frequent nosebleeds and vague flashbacks of the time when she was missing.

Handsome and ambitious, Arnav Rathore is an entrepreneur and the winner of ‘Alum of the year’ award from ACIM. Arnav is surprised when he discovers that Priya is the girl his mother has chosen for him as his life partner. Having suffered heartbreak previously, a simple life with Priya is all he is looking for when he marries her.

TO THE PLACE WHERE IT ALL BEGAN…

Sheesh Mahal- The royal mansion has stood witness to centuries of life and death of the Rajvanshi kings and the fierce battles they have fought. However, unbeknownst to most, Sheesh Mahal is riddled with a terrifying crime. In the modern times, when the youngest of the Rajvanshis - Arnav Rathore is on a quest to renovate Sheesh Mahal into a five star resort, a devastating secret threatens to spill out and change his life forever.

A lonely Priya, now Arnav's wife, starts spending most of her time in the grand library of Sheesh Mahal, learning about the rich history of her husband’s royal lineage. Her restlessness hits home when she comes across an unfinished portrait of one of Arnav’s infamous ancestors - Satya Narayan. As Arnav becomes increasingly consumed with work, Priya struggles with long suppressed memories that start coming to the fore.

Hurled back in time through unexplained forces, Priya finds herself driven to bringing justice to the prince who had been wronged and change the fate of the Rajvanshis while her own future hangs in the balance.

Excerpts from the Foreword

"It is a beautifully written book that goes deep into the psyche of a seemingly normal young girl who has a strange ability and a secret that will dictate her entire life.

Shalini doesn't rush with the narrative and is never in a hurry to show all her cards at once. She takes her time, allows the reader to meditate on the complexities of her characters, lets their inner turmoil and conflicts play out, and then gradually, like a very fine operatic piece, takes the narrative to its crescendo."
