Love & (Mellow ) Drama by Manali Desai | Book review

 Book review :

This book is heart warming , full of bollywood quotes or songs and drama that keeps you engrossed throughout. The story begins like a simple youngsters love and their conversations but soon families gets involved making it drama story to know what happens next.

Gayatri Kulkarni loves to dance even after her parents have forbidden her. She was forced by her parents to follow in her brother Sharad's footsteps and thus she chose the same subject as her brother to study. Varun Agarwal is the elder brother of Sharad's friend Abhi. Gayatri and Varun find themselves attracted to each other and like all other people with a crush find reasons to meet each other. But the world isn't always a happy place. Life can be unfair.

It is intriguing to read how they overcome the ups and downs of life and support each other. Though their was age difference between them. I could easily relate the aspirations of a young girl to emotions of a mother of a settled son. The end of the tale took a drastic turn making you realize the real power of women.

Quotes from the book that depict so many emotions and beliefs :

💘“Sometimes, a vacation is just what you need to get away from three P’s of your life: people, problems and projects.”

💘“Whatever happens, happens for the best? Maybe those who say and believe that have never really had to face the worst of life yet.”

The author has well penned the starting feelings of any pair when they are in love. Though the story is quite dramatic or more of a bollywood story but the effects of the little tit-bits and emotional setup makes you feel the story immensely. The narration of the storyline is vividly done in an engrossing manner. Each chapter begins with an inspiring anecdote or quotes that depict the story of that particular chapter. The way it portrays the ups and downs in life and the power of having the support of friends and family is outstanding.

Overall, Love & (Mellow) Drama is a fun and engaging read that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. The characters are well-developed and relatable, and the story is full of heartwarming moments. A story that depicts the love story, melo dramas, love twists, requirement of a settled boy, ambitions of a young girl, the real power of friendship, women empowerment and much more. Do grab this book for a medley of so many angles.

Thanks to the author for providing me e-copy in return of an honest review.

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness for Combating Overthinking, Achieving Stress Relief, and Attaining Absolute Peace  Deekay | Book Review What is turbulence? Any thoughts, or have you ever tried to tame any animal? I remember watching circus shows organised once a year in the city's open area for all the locals to enjoy. There I used to cherish the person who tamed the elephants or the lion (if any). But today I thought of taming my mind. Every second our thoughts are randomly moving and giving us goosebumps. Nowadays people have so many threads of work looming in their minds that they feel like completing but fail to prioritise. To dive into a river is not easy. But only a few people have the calibre to do that. The same is true with diving in your mind. This practice needs calmness of mind and anxiety levels to be very low. I had heard about meditation and its techniques to apply in your daily routine, but when I stumbled upon this book, my myths w...

The Psychology of Marketing: How Marketers Trick Us Into Buying More by Harinder Singh Pelia | Book Review Marketing is such an in-depth concept that it always transitions according to consumer preferences. The extent to which marketers go to sell their products will blow our minds away, as money comes first rather than people's needs. Even the bare detail that hints at our desires is manoeuvred to boost sales figures, often overshadowing the genuine connection between a brand and its audience. This relentless pursuit of profit can lead to practices that prioritise persuasive tactics over transparency, leaving consumers feeling manipulated rather than empowered. sales. How to make money might be in our control, but how money goes out of our pocket might not be, as psychology is in cohesion with marketing.
