Threshold by Sudha Sikrawar | Book review

 Book review:

"Threshold" is an extraordinary compilation of stories that not only captivates but also showcase the bitter truths of society. Each story has a remarkable depth that imparts a long lasting impact on its readers. The book contains 17 stories with varied themes and highlight the women and her stamina to fight all the adversities.

In story  " Kamli" , the author depicted a village girl who gets married at a tender age of eight. Everyone seems pleased to know she is married to a wealthy person though his age is her thrice. She gets to travel on train. After gauna , when she reaches her sasural or in laws home she has only one task of cooking. Few days later, an incident broke her and she filed a divorce with a baby in her womb. She delivers a baby boy after divorce and works day and night for upbringing her only son. But is life the same ? She is tested and left at the same spot after  a long span.

The author skillfully portrays each story, leaving readers with a distinct and thought-provoking experience while shedding light on various perspectives of life and society. The stories within this collection are not only engaging but also serve as a mirror to our own lives. Each story is vividly depicted and characters are well plotted.

Overall, each story has an enthralling impact that is long lasting. The simplicity of language and depth of words makes the reader spellbound. Worth reading,  do grab it!
