Book review:

Are you an influencer? Do you write blogs? If the answer is yes, then you might have faced a lot of upheavals during your journey as the road to becoming a famous Influencer is never smooth and easygoing. I too want to influence people with my writing skills but the road to success is filled with a lot of risks and one needs to be alert all the time. Your one word can impart a deep impact on many lives.

I had never heard of Miss Malini before but when I stumbled upon this book, I could not resist googling about her. She laid the foundation of blogging when social media was not that popular too. I too wanted to know about her journey and how she could so easily influence people with her words.

I appreciate her straightforward attitude of sharing her opinion and reading this book was interacting with her face-to-face. She begins by asking the readers do you know which generation you belong to? I was startled when I heard this. Obviously, every person knows about his/her decade of birth so does her generation.  But a big No.

Evaluation of generation and then predicting their attitude to life and how they behave in this online era was like an eye-opener. Slowly she sets the foundation of why exactly we need to learn how to survive and thrive online. Her step-by-step guide from the beginning of social media to becoming an addict of social media was quite nostalgic.

I learnt about the anatomy of troll, GAIT score and plenty of hashtags that can be used to evoke alert or gain attention. Her little efforts to unfurled the pros and cons of online media were vividly depicted.

In this book, Malini deep dives into the psychology of rampant online hate culture, explaining why it exists, and providing practical tools to tackle it. With insight and empathy, she guides users on how to deal with trolls and cancel culture, respond to provocation and combat negativity with positive action and mindfulness.

Quotes from the book that piqued my interest:
💕" The ego is that ugly little troll that lives underneath the bridge between your mind and your heart."- Gael Greene
💕 "When women support each other, incredible things happen."
💕 " To live is to war with trolls." - Henrik Ibsen

Malini gives extremely valuable bits of knowledge into the complexities of online connections by drawing on her tremendous experience as the maker of the popular way of life blog MissMalini. Utilizing her novel style of mind and empathy, Malini desires to rouse readers to involve web-based entertainment as a power for good.

She offers readers counsel on the most proficient method to manage savages and drop culture, respond to detest and incitement, and battle pessimism with care and useful activity, all while showing understanding and compassion.

I appreciate her inclusion of interviews with prominent influencers and psychologists, personality self-assessment tests and interactive quizzes. She shares the IKIGAI of you as a person. Are you human in nature? Are you the hero of your own story? So many questions and related answers transform you to become a better you and radiate the same.

Overall,  This is a vital book about web-based habits and how to make a helpful move notwithstanding harassing body disgracing, and savaging. I was delighted to find out about drop culture's operations and how to stay away from it. As a book blogger, this book impacted me. A must-read for present-day clients of interpersonal interaction.

  1. I too have read this book, Shifali and I agree with you. Malini has given very honest accounts of her life as an influencer and knows that challenges inside out. This book is valuable not just for influencers but also for anyone who is active and interacting on social media.

  2. I am not a fan of gossip, especially Bollywood gossip, so I never followed her ever. In fact, I checked her accounts after reading the book. I was curious about the book and found it all over, which is what the web is about--too much, too fast, no reality. Having said that, it was interesting to know how people survive in the chaotic digital world.

But whatever it is, Malini is an eminent face in the influencer industry and her experience shared in this book will help many people like us. - Swarnali Nath (The Blissful Storyteller)

  5. I heard about Miss Malini on and off in the entertainment world, but since I usually steer clear of gossip, I don't think her journey as an influencer is something I would be interested in. However, since that seems to be a profession many youngsters seem to be aiming at, I guess this book will help them a lot

  10. I'm not much into entertainment reading but Malini's name isn't unknown to bloggers and that's what we can take a leaf out of. I like how you mentioned that she has explained how the generation we belong to shapes us. This was a great review. Not sure if I'll be picking up the book, but I'm definitely not a 'no-no' for it anymore

  11. Honestly speaking I read this book in May only and after a long time I felt so good after reading one which is out of my comfort zone. The book talks about the industry we all somewhere linked with and Hats of too Malini to pen down such a book with so much perfection. 13. I know about Miss Malini, but I have not yet read her books. Since you have read this, you must try reading Masoom Minawala's book. I read it recently and loved it.
