We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies by Matthew Tysz

Book review: We Are Voulhire

"We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Skies" by Matthew Tysz is an interesting blend of imagination, experience, and political interest. The story follows Galen Bawl, an evacuee from a conflict-desolated land who shows up in the realm of Voulhire with the goal of beginning another life. However, despite its outward success, Galen soon discovers that the realm is loaded with stowed-away risks and subtle conflicts.

The narrative opens with Galen acquiring property from his uncle in the realm of Voulhire. Anxious to reconstruct his life, Galen is hopeful, yet the realm he's come to is not even close to stable. Voulhire faces dangers on various fronts. The Riva Rohavi, a brutal dissident group, looks to obliterate the abundance they disdain. At the same time, a strong wizard is detained on a nearby island,  waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Even within Voulhire’s own political system, corruption is rampant, with the Mianoran Knights, once protectors of the realm, compromised by selfish leadership.

Quotes from the book that piqued me:
🍀“See the good in everything, and the best of it will find you.” My grandmother used to tell me that.

🍀“May you uncover every detail. But don't forget...” he held a finger to my face, “you are the author of your own story!”

🍀In this special kingdom, where all the tools are provided to build a perfect world, you will stand as a firsthand witness to what people do when they have no excuse to fail. This, my children, is the magnificent and terrifying kingdom of Voulhire!”

The strength of the narrative lies in its nitty-gritty world-building. The realm of Voulhire feels genuine, with a rich history, complex legislative issues, and a different society. From the clamouring urban areas to the perilous edges, the setting is vivid and adds profundity to the story's unfurling occasions.

The characters are additionally all well drawn. Galen is a thoughtful hero whose wide-looked-at guiltlessness stands out from the unforgiving real factors of the realm. His assurance to construct a day-to-day existence in Voulhire, regardless of its risks, makes him a person worth pulling for. Other characters like Lord Wilhelm and the bad first knight add further intricacy to the realm's political and social scene.

The story's pacing is balanced, mixing snapshots of activity with scenes that dive further into the world's secrets and clashes. As the story advances, the pressure fabricates, uncovering more about the dangers confronting Voulhire and expanding the stakes for Galen and the realm.

Themes of power, corruption, and the quest for justice run throughout the book. The idea of maintaining hope in the face of adversity is central, especially as Galen tries to stay optimistic despite the dangers around him. The quote, “See the good in everything, and the best of it will find you,” encapsulates this theme well, reflecting Galen’s outlook on his new life.

Overall, "We Are Voulhire" is a promising beginning to a drawing-in-dream series. With its convincing characters, rich setting, and smart subjects, enthralling fanatics of the genre are certain. Matthew Tysz has made a world loaded up with interest, risk, and trust, and readers will be quick to follow Galen's excursion in later portions.

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness for Combating Overthinking, Achieving Stress Relief, and Attaining Absolute Peace  Deekay | Book Review What is turbulence? Any thoughts, or have you ever tried to tame any animal? I remember watching circus shows organised once a year in the city's open area for all the locals to enjoy. There I used to cherish the person who tamed the elephants or the lion (if any). But today I thought of taming my mind. Every second our thoughts are randomly moving and giving us goosebumps. Nowadays people have so many threads of work looming in their minds that they feel like completing but fail to prioritise. To dive into a river is not easy. But only a few people have the calibre to do that. The same is true with diving in your mind. This practice needs calmness of mind and anxiety levels to be very low. I had heard about meditation and its techniques to apply in your daily routine, but when I stumbled upon this book, my myths w...

The extent to which marketers go to sell their products will blow our minds away, as money comes first rather than people's needs.
