Book review : There's blood on your heart

 Book review :

"You are like your father".

The protagonist , Niharika or Nihar is daily haunted by her dreams that donot let her sleep. When she was 8years old ,she was abandoned by her parents and given to some other couple living in Australia. Her mother was brutally killed by her father and her aunt send her with the couple far away. Her father was sentenced.

A little girl who lost her parents is compulsorily allowed to live with her new parents. It was not at all easy and she could never leave the hope that one day her maternal father will come to take her back. Years passed but no one came. Instead she received an email from her aunt to visit India her home place as if her last wish.

Arguing with her only friend Rik and her parents , she decides to come India. Taking a decision to visit India was an attempt to come out of the guilt of ignoring her aunt or not replying her properly. But destiny has some other plans for her.

In India, she stays in a hotel in Mumbai. But her hallucinations don't leave her. She at times could not make out what's real and what's fake. Here she meets Panash who soon becomes her friend. She slowly shares with him her issues and her reason of coming India. But as she progresses to unravel the truth she finds herself more and more getting deep into the pit of hidden truths and dying persons mystery.

"You are the last one left. There's blood on your heart". - Lines from the book.

With series of deaths taking place around her, one after another, and a hundred different versions of the crime floating about in every nook and cranny of her past, would Nihar finally get to the truth? Would she know why her mother had to die, who killed her, and why all these years,  she kept following her everywhere? Why - what was it that she wished her only daughter to know?

The author has beautifully crafted the hallucinations and emotions of a daughter seeking for her parents love really touched me. The emotions of an abandoned daughter and how she tries to recover herself from depression and what path she takes to come out of the fear of someone haunting her is really spooky.

I loved reading this book and would recommend this book to all thriller book lovers.

Happy Reading!
