Book review : Impulses laid Bare

 Book review:

This book is a collection of poems that impart light to impulses that any person tries to hide from their loved ones. It tries to colour a canvas with different shades of love, acceptance and expression.  Every crack becomes an experience to share, a valuable lesson or just some quirks that make you who you are today. This book is a marvellous attempt at painting the mosaic and laying it all bare.

The poet has tried to ponder on different shades or colours of life. She has penned down adroitly the hardcore feelings of a lover or a girl when she says  in her poem, "I love you so bad." She pours light on the fact that any girl who is in love doesn't care about the hardships, pains or extreme behaviour of her loved one whether she likes it or not. She can destroy herself completely just for her love.

Few verses of a few poems I want to share :

"Forgiveness was never a selfless act,

To forgive is not to forget.

Forgiveness is kindness to myself,

To preserve my sanity while it lasts. "

"Pardon my indulgences but they don’t change the fact!

It’s expectations that poison your life, not my act.

The key to this is drawing a line.

Respecting boundaries both yours and mine.

Otherwise, pour yourself some disappointment with a wedge of lime."

I liked reading these verses full of deep emotions hidden deep inside. Do give it a read.
