Book review:
Mahabharata is such an epic that one cannot be devoid of stories. All the plots narrate spellbound and enigmatic vibes that guide a person to be capable enough to choose right or wrong. In this book, I got a chance to rememorize the stories of this epic. Though it is not a proper Mahabharata but a reformed Mahabharata with a scientific twist added.
"The Mahabharata Code" is a memoir written by the protagonist, Narayan Rao, who represents himself as a NASA astronomer. He along with a group of crew members consent to join NASA’s mission to investigate the mystery planet from which they had been receiving enigmatic signals. He has some hilarious moments in Bengaluru where he finds himself alone from a USA upbringing. But he always respects and regards the stories told by his Grandmother of Mahabharata.
NR comes upon a man who identifies himself as Vyasa and has a long, flowing white beard. He admits that he has a crazy scheme in mind and asks NR and his followers for assistance in carrying it out. To win back the trust of the naive simpletons living here, he plans to reproduce the whole Mahabharata on this planet.
The depiction of Mahabharata word for a word makes things blurred and NR finds something fishy in this deed. So he seeks the help of alien Krishna. Is the “alien” Krishna who has been misled ready for this intervention? Will he be able to save himself and prevent the planet from destruction or fall victim to it?
The characters have been well sketched and the personalities portrayed of them in this book rightly suit their characters in this book.
This book has a riveting narrative and many adorned words have been used in the narrative. The author skillfully crafts a plot full of suspense and intrigue, keeping the reader engaged throughout the story.
Overall, the book is a gripping, mind-boggling, and captivating piece that depicts the varied tales of Mahabharata in an impactful manner. Worth reading, do grab it!
