My illegitimate son: A true story

"My Illegitimate Son" is a stirringly poignant story with a blend of riotous laughter and abundant sorrow. The book makes you pin point the fact : Is atonement and forgiveness at all possible,  or is it just a desperate human urge for finding inner peace?  Can we really move on?

An enthralling impact is drawn when you find the narrator is Louis, a mini Daschund who beautifully narrates his life. He depicts hus life from his birth , his depart from his maternal mother till he is adopted by a sober family. He shares his feelings, bondings and how he adapts to the family.

In this house, he finds his brother figure in another dog, Olly. His innocence,  sincerity and unwavering loyalty is palpable especially when the family navigates life's ups and downs. His journey in their house leaves a life long impact.

Quote from the book that really piqued me :

🍎" Don't they say success is getting what you want, happiness is wanting what you get?"

🍎" Isn't imitation the best form of flattery?"

The author has meticulously narrated the love for his illegitimate son, Louis. Though he stated the hard but real truths of life from the perspective of his son. His ideal way of depicting many social issues in a unique and hilarious manner is outstanding.  The book makes you open dictionary many a times apart from the fact one is having reading a habit. Each little moment is vividly depicted and the sketches enhance its beauty.

Overall,  this book is an interesting story that makes you fall in love with dogs and understand their perspective too. A great read, worth reading!
