These Corridors by Sudha Sikrawar | Book review

Book review:

It is a compelling tale that delves into the themes of bravery, resilience, and the dangers of cybercrime. Set in Lucknow, the story follows Vedikaa, who becomes a victim of a disturbing cybercrime scheme that preys on her genuine emotions and trust in social media.

Vedika is a normal teacher leading a normal life. Usually, she used to receive letters from her father during her childhood where he used to illustrate everything in a detailed manner which used to be baffling for her in the initial days. But later in her life when she grew up she understood the hidden meaning of sending those lengthy letters to her.

That day when she was full of thoughts she felt like sharing her story with her father and lessening her weight of guilt or sadness by conveying to her father all the details. So she begins by writing letters where she describes to him how her life went upside down.

Her life takes a turn when she accepts an Instagram friend request from a man named 'John Rose'. How will accepting a friend request from a stranger and having a casual conversation alter her life?

Through Vedikaa's story, the creator actually features the unavoidable danger of cybercrime in the present innovation-driven world. The book fills in as a powerful sign of the significance of online well-being and watchfulness, encouraging readers to be mindful and doubtful of tricky web-based communications.

While at first sluggish-paced, the book bit by bit unfurls into a grasping spine chiller that keeps readers snared until the end. Vedikaa's process fills in as a wake-up call, provoking reflection on the weaknesses inborn in web-based connections and the requirement for carefulness.

I appreciate Sudha Sikrawar for her astute narration and for focusing on this significant issue. This book isn't just captivating but additionally fills in as a significant asset for exploring the intricacies of our computerized world.

All in all, this is a thought-provoking read. Though a bit monotonous it evokes a need to be vigilant in using the internet and sharing your personal photos or videos on social media.

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness for Combating Overthinking, Achieving Stress Relief, and Attaining Absolute Peace  Deekay | Book Review What is turbulence? Any thoughts, or have you ever tried to tame any animal? I remember watching circus shows organised once a year in the city's open area for all the locals to enjoy. There I used to cherish the person who tamed the elephants or the lion (if any). But today I thought of taming my mind. Every second our thoughts are randomly moving and giving us goosebumps. Nowadays people have so many threads of work looming in their minds that they feel like completing but fail to prioritise. To dive into a river is not easy. But only a few people have the calibre to do that. The same is true with diving in your mind. This practice needs calmness of mind and anxiety levels to be very low. I had heard about meditation and its techniques to apply in your daily routine, but when I stumbled upon this book, my myths w...

The extent to which marketers go to sell their products will blow our minds away, as money comes first rather than people's needs.
