Parenting Strategies Unplugged : Your Guide to Positive Parenting by Shibu Nair | Book review

 Book review:

Parenting is a never-ending process. God has blessed parents as the child's protectors and teachers as well in this materialistic world. In my teaching career, I remember being a counsellor to many parents, but this book added to that memory. Initially, I felt that this book would have some tactics to be shared for beneficial parenting, but the book startled me a lot. This book is a collection of heart-touching short stories that make us ponder on little things that go unnoticed.

As a parent, we need to learn how our empathetic behaviour and a few words of appreciation can make a lasting impact on our children. These stories relate to many such critical issues that can either make or deform your child's future.

"Parenting Strategies Unplugged" aims to provide parents with practical advice and strategies to navigate the challenges of modern parenting. By focusing on the core principles of care, love, and understanding, parents can build strong, healthy relationships with their children and help them thrive in today's world.

A few quotes from the book that inspired me as a teacher to do more good:
🌷"As a parent, you have the power to be your child's hero by creating a loving and peaceful environment at home."
🌷“A loving parent permits but restricts too when the child crosses the boundaries set, appreciates when they achieve but corrects them when they make mistakes showing them the right path to be followed.”
🌷"Parents need to set boundaries when it comes to screen time and technology use. Limiting the amount of time children spend on devices and monitoring the content they consume can help prevent digital addiction and promote healthy development."

Throughout the book, the author stresses the meaning of imparting ethics, values, and a feeling of having a place in youngsters. Guardians are encouraged to be effectively involved and steady, commending their youngsters' victories and difficulties similarly. The author's methodology is delicate yet strong. He urges us to zero in on areas of strength for building trust and correspondence with our children.

The author's efforts to guide parents, providing an example of unique topics or common issues faced by parents these days, are praiseworthy. His evocative and resonating approach has guided me in many ways.

Overall, this book is a must-read for all parents. Highly recommended!

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness for Combating Overthinking, Achieving Stress Relief, and Attaining Absolute Peace  Deekay | Book Review What is turbulence? Any thoughts, or have you ever tried to tame any animal? I remember watching circus shows organised once a year in the city's open area for all the locals to enjoy. There I used to cherish the person who tamed the elephants or the lion (if any). But today I thought of taming my mind. Every second our thoughts are randomly moving and giving us goosebumps. Nowadays people have so many threads of work looming in their minds that they feel like completing but fail to prioritise. To dive into a river is not easy. But only a few people have the calibre to do that. The same is true with diving in your mind. This practice needs calmness of mind and anxiety levels to be very low. I had heard about meditation and its techniques to apply in your daily routine, but when I stumbled upon this book, my myths w...

The Psychology of Marketing: How Marketers Trick Us Into Buying More by Harinder Singh Pelia

The Psychology of Marketing: How Marketers Trick Us Into Buying More by Harinder Singh Pelia | Book Review Marketing is such an in-depth concept that it always transitions according to consumer preferences. The extent to which marketers go to sell their products will blow our minds away, as money comes first rather than people's needs. Even the bare detail that hints at our desires is manoeuvred to boost sales figures, often overshadowing the genuine connection between a brand and its audience. This relentless pursuit of profit can lead to practices that prioritise persuasive tactics over transparency, leaving consumers feeling manipulated rather than empowered. sales. How to make money might be in our control, but how money goes out of our pocket might not be, as psychology is in cohesion with marketing. Harinder Singh Pelia’s “The Psychology of Marketing” is all about how marketing creates a bond with the audience, thus tricking the audience into dwelling deep into purchasing th...
