True Spirit by Pratima Jaidev

 True Spirit by Pratima Jaidev

The book TRUE SPIRIT tells the real-life tales of women who have persevered, overcome adversity, and possessed faith. Their approach to life has been enlightening, inspirational, and had a profound effect on me.

There are twenty-one real-life stories that are heartfelt and sensitive. These accounts of twenty-one women employed in a variety of fields, including media, education, IT, and more, transported me to various stages of their development. In order to overcome all obstacles, discover their life's purpose, and realise their aspirations, they have gradually transformed their lives with grace and grit.

The stories span across different cultures and circumstances, but they share a common thread: the recognition that grace and peace isn’t the absence of struggle, but it is the way we choose to move through that matters the most.

And grit isn’t about never failing or falling down, but it’s about having a ‘never give up attitude’, the will to rise up again and again, dust off all the challenges and keep marching forward in life.

In the story, "Be in the Now", I could feel the pain of Sweta when she finds her son, Kstij, an autistic child. But no one could feel the pain or even said that she was overreacting. But her husband helps her and understands her.

The book covers a wide range of stories of women who have dealt with bereavement, disability, toxic relationships, and domestic abuse, but at the core of every tale is an unwavering faith in potential.

The honesty of "True Spirit" is what sets it apart. These are not tales of spectacular successes, but rather of small victories in which the decision to proceed turns into a subdued act of defiance.

Overall, "True Spirit" is intended for everybody who has ever fallen and had to muster the strength to get back up. It gently motivates you without pressuring you in any way. It serves as a reminder that you are not alone, even on your worst days, and that you can always get back up.

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness by Deekay

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness for Combating Overthinking, Achieving Stress Relief, and Attaining Absolute Peace  Deekay | Book Review What is turbulence? Any thoughts, or have you ever tried to tame any animal? I remember watching circus shows organised once a year in the city's open area for all the locals to enjoy. There I used to cherish the person who tamed the elephants or the lion (if any). But today I thought of taming my mind. Every second our thoughts are randomly moving and giving us goosebumps. Nowadays people have so many threads of work looming in their minds that they feel like completing but fail to prioritise. To dive into a river is not easy. But only a few people have the calibre to do that. The same is true with diving in your mind. This practice needs calmness of mind and anxiety levels to be very low. I had heard about meditation and its techniques to apply in your daily routine, but when I stumbled upon this book, my myths w...

My journey of motherhood| Tips for mothers with ASD children

My Journey of Motherhood: To date, I remember how I was rushed to the hospital as I was feeling uneasy and could not feel any movement inside the womb. I got hospitalized in an emergency and tests were conducted. I was on a regular checkup by the doctors every hour and after some time I was advised not to eat or drink after this hour. I was too dumb to understand the situation. In the morning, when I woke up the doctor who was handling my case came to check me and bombarded me when I mentioned that I drank a glass of water. His anger had no limits and he scolded the staff for not supervising me properly. In a fraction of a second, a decision was made. I was prepared for my c-section. But I was not mentally prepared for it, I started making lame excuses but to no avail. At last, I was taken in the OT and the process started. I was only able to hear the idle banter of doctors and nurses inside. After some time I heard the first cry of my child and I forgot all my pains. The doctor ...

The Psychology of Marketing: How Marketers Trick Us Into Buying More by Harinder Singh Pelia

The Psychology of Marketing: How Marketers Trick Us Into Buying More by Harinder Singh Pelia | Book Review Marketing is such an in-depth concept that it always transitions according to consumer preferences. The extent to which marketers go to sell their products will blow our minds away, as money comes first rather than people's needs. Even the bare detail that hints at our desires is manoeuvred to boost sales figures, often overshadowing the genuine connection between a brand and its audience. This relentless pursuit of profit can lead to practices that prioritise persuasive tactics over transparency, leaving consumers feeling manipulated rather than empowered. sales. How to make money might be in our control, but how money goes out of our pocket might not be, as psychology is in cohesion with marketing. Harinder Singh Pelia’s “The Psychology of Marketing” is all about how marketing creates a bond with the audience, thus tricking the audience into dwelling deep into purchasing th...
