Dhi's Clock by Saudamini Mishra aka Dhi

Dhi's Clock by Saudamini Mishra aka Dhi

Time allots us a lot of responsibilities, but we hardly get to know about them on time. Today I was looking for a refreshing read to work efficiently on my purpose in life. But I was a bit confused. Then I stumbled upon this book, which helped me realise my purpose using the method provided.

Dhi's clock informs us of our archetype, its life purpose and shows the way in which every day, month and year has a lasting impact on our life. It helps the reader in synchronising with your time so as to shield yourself from untimely deceptions or failures. It guides on how to make hard choices every day.

I learnt about the nine archetypes:

Archetype Trailblazer

Archetypal Collaborator

Archetype Creator

Archetype Builder

Archetype Disruptor

Archetype Investigator

Archetype Equaliser

Archetype Transcender

Dhi's clock provides the troubled individuals a chance to reinvent themselves and find peace by ensuring that they are on the right path. It explains how people often feel fixed or occupied because they unknowingly repeat the same mistake or pattern in their personal and professional lives. As per the author, this repetition is not accidental; it is time trying to redirect us. This perspective felt both confronting and deeply thought-provoking.

The author guides that your purpose will not be accomplished by verbose speeches or literary and academic texts. Each person demands evidence, and hence Dhi's clock was created to just provide that evidence.

Overall, DHI'S CLOCK is an effective instrument for introspection and self-awareness. It connects philosophy with daily life, intuition with tracking, and introspection with structure.

Wisdom from the Dashavatara - Leadership Lessons on Startups by Prachi Garg

Wisdom from the Dashavatara - Leadership Lessons on Startups by Prachi Garg

Phases of life come and go, leaving behind the hard lessons of life. One such phase was the Covid time. Here many people lost their jobs, and many became extremely rich due to their monopoly. In one such scenario was a banker, Manav, who lost his job.

Manav's journey from a banker to building something meaningful during the tough Covid phase makes the reader learn about the thinking methodology of many. He tried to use his learned lessons during his job times, and helping others in any way is the core principle of this book.

I was able to connect to Manav as I faced a lot of difficulties and had gone through some patches in life wherein I self-doubted my decisions and choices. Manav went on to write a book based on his lessons, as he wanted to spread motivation to the others.

Manav's journey clearly indicates leadership values like patience and courage. The author has done a fantastic job by using the Dashavatara of Lord Vishnu to inspire all the leaders, founders and entrepreneurs to get through tough phases of uncertainty. Each avatara offers practical knowledge and wisdom and offers unique lessons.

The writing is simple and easy to move through. I’m not deeply into mythology, but I never felt lost. It’s not a book I’d call life-changing, but it did give me a few ideas to carry into the week. And sometimes that’s enough.

It's a reminder that leadership isn’t about titles or success metrics...for it begins when one decides not to freeze in uncertainty!!

Very thoughtful, grounded and comforting, "Wisdom From The Dashavatara" proves that our oldest stories know how to guide our newest dreams. If you enjoy reflective reads that mix old stories with modern thinking, this one’s worth your time.

The Roaming Bihari and His Bagful of Stories by Ehtesam Shahid

The Roaming Bihari and His Bagful of Stories by Ehtesam Shahid

Residing in a different country to earn a living here and there is a bit difficult. But many Indians opt for going out and working for their families over here. But their journey of cutting down their expenses for living and trying to save more is not a piece of cake. In this book, I get to read about the author who went to Saudi Arabia after the 9/11 attacks.

The author shares interesting anecdotes from the lives of diverse personalities, even the fascinating career and contributions of the UAE's ruler, Sheikh Zayed, and many other implications of influential persons. He has explored how Indians have bonded with one another and accommodated the demands made upon them by the diverse rules, norms and cultural mores that prevail in different Gulf states.

Overall, this is an excellent introduction to the dynamics of West Asia for travellers, businesspeople, and those seeking fortune beyond their native shores.

Uneasy Spaces by Shubira Prasad

 Uneasy Spaces by Shubira Prasad

"Uneasy Spaces" is a collection of nine stories that made me engrossed with thoughts and linger out many questions unsettled. These stories speak instead of the fraility of human ties and the shadows that stalk us.

Each story is very different and yet shares a tsunami of emotional terrain that binds them. The author has well weaved the narrative leaving you pondering on the turns or how the characters might have taken decisions.

This choice made challenges the readers who expect momentum of actions. There were moments that demanded the stillness and patience. It provide ample time for the reader to decide and think both sides of the situation.

In story, Jai Bhirali, the character of Gaurav and his first love or wife and their tragic end made me feel sorry for the couple. This story depicted so many aspects from the tough life of the air force officials to the dutiful son who remarries to keep her mother happy. But will the first love die or pop up randomly? What will be the decision of Gaurav?

I was most impressed by how distinctly real the characters feel. They are characterised by accumulation—of memory, sorrow, concern, and endurance—rather than by significant turning events. These individuals are negotiating marriage, friendship, grief, and acceptance without the ease of tidy conclusions. Their changes are subtle but significant. Though everyone is moved, they are all still looking for answers. It feels genuine to have that ambiguity. After all, clarity is rarely provided on demand in life.

The prose is straightforward, serene, and very human. It lets emotions flow rather than forcing them to reach tidy conclusions. Instead than looking for resolution, the characters learn to accept what is left. The stories feel genuine and accessible because of that decision.

Overall, this is one of the best stories that made me thinking long after reading the book too.
