vWater Witch Witches of Westwood Academy: Book 1 | Book review

Book review :

WATER WITCH is the first book in the Witches of Westwood Academy and we start off with Rio. Well, actually, we start off with Leanna Stolbright - a magical bloodhound, otherwise known as a magical scout. She finds Rio and issues her an invitation to join the Academy.

At twenty years old, Rio knows about magic. She also knows their bloodline is cursed as both her mother and grandmother died because of it. She is excited to go but sad to leave her grandfather behind.

She gets unusual roommates that does not make sense with the magic counsel's policy, she finds out they expect her to know already how to use her magic, and not only does she have magic, she has very strong magic. The question is, can she control her magic or will her curse take her. She finds out the school is very segregated by magic class, and also by who works for the school. She does not buy into that, she is drawn to a shifter who is a guardian and she does not only befriend students but people who work for the school. If she has her way, no one should be less than anyone else.

Overall, the book is well written, like-able, easy to follow, and engaging. If you enjoy fantasy world with angst, conflict, friendship despite the odds, and love — I think you will enjoy this book. Thank you BookSirens for the free advanced reader copy!
