23 Minutes by Aleksandr Jarid | Book review

Book review:
Life is a long journey where one shares innumerable moments with their loved ones. Here I started with a book 23 minutes where a man in his nineties got  life changed forever in 23 minutes. "23 minutes" is the story of destiny, choices, and moments that changed his life forever.

It is the story of this old man in 2071 who is being interviewed by an investigative journalist. Over the course of the interview, the old man narrates his life story and little snippets of his life and his changing perspectives. As an old person needs perfection so he repeatedly ask for right working of his recorder. He slowly shares his life lessons and philosophies, and also how 23 minutes changed his life forever. Through this interview, the readers embark on a journey experiencing a life full of incredible experiences and profound learnings . But what significance do 23 minutes hold in the old man’s life?

The entire story is narrated through an interview format which is unique. Every little snippets of his life from his twenties to thirties or more shares his beliefs and characteristics as a person. One of the quotes that provokes the reader to think how to behave :

💛" Observing people’s mannerisms and body language is always the best way to judge differences in yourself concerning who surrounds you.” ðŸ’›

The author has meticulously weaved the storyline narrating the story through the interview. Each chapter is marked as episode which pours light on one of his moments where he learns something or the other. Easy flow of language and simplicity in depicting varied nations and their cultures is outstanding.

Overall, "23 Minutes" is a thought provoking read that instills varied life lessons for this generation. As the story is told from the perspective of many years ahead so it is peculiar to know and understand the present.  Do grab this book  with an interesting story and a profound message.
