AMRIT KALASH : Greatest Tales from Indian Mythology by Divya Narain Upadhyaya

AMRIT KALASH : Greatest Tales from Indian Mythology by Divya Narain Upadhyaya

"Amrit Kalash" is a beautiful compilation ofimmortal stories from our epics. It is divided into three sections. Each section depicts the stories of our epics.

The second section talks about the story of cosmic dance of Rudra and provides a better perspective of different dances of Shiva. The third section is about the incarnations of Vishnu.

Each chapter provides the meaning of few sanskrit words like "Hiranya", " Manavas" and much more. I liked reading about Devavrata's transformation into Bhishma, and Arjuna's time as Brihannala, to key cosmic events, such as Lord Shiva's marriage to Shakti and his role in saving the universe, and Lord Vishnu's incarnations (Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana) and the ultimate churning of the ocean.

The author has well penned the stories in simple yet engaging manner. These events are presented in a concise, fictionalized format that never compromises their divine essence or the ancient, relevant knowledge they impart.

The themes of devotion, sacrifice, duty, destiny and human feelings make the ancient stories feel lively and meaningful. The clear storytelling kept the experience immersive from start to finish.

Overall, it is an engrossing read.

I Am My Own Laxmi by Aarti Gupta

 I am my Own Laxmi

Laxmi is usually used for women or Goddess Laxmi, who initiates the wealth in the home. Women are so powerful and intelligent enough to earn as much money as they can. But they fail to manage money. Why? Is it their incapability or lack of sufficient knowledge?

These questions are answered in an adroit manner by the author. He shares about his journey of learning valuable lessons about managing money from his mother during childhood. He talks about how his mother managed the boardroom meetings along with money well. He received his initial lessons from her.

Through inspiring and thought-provoking stories, the author asks a general question: If women are capable of drawing lakhs of money every month, then Why do they hand over their hard-earned money to the male counterparts without a second thought? Why don't they trust themselves? Is it their incapability or conditioning that prevents them from acting for themselves?

I liked the "Snowball Method" and "The Avalanche Method" of getting out of debt, if any. He shares how death can create chaos in the lives of women after their spouse's death, making it hard for them to survive with family.

Each chapter ends with a valuable, life-changing thought that reminds you to take action and change your lives. This book acts like a must-read for all women.

Overall, "I am my own Laxmi" is a thought-provoking read.

Temporalism

Temporalism

Every person is busy in one or the other work. So I thought of finding a way to manage time. This book proved to be the best fit to solve my problem. It helped me understand about time and sort out my daily tasks with smartness.

In this book, the author shares that Time is our infinitely loyal and unimaginably powerful servant, who is always carrying us somewhere. Relentlessly and continuously, until one dies right in its arms, the boat of time delivers to the final point of the route.

In this metaphor, it is important to emphasize two things. First, the servant is always working: you cannot “switch off” time, even if you want to pause and decide nothing. Second, it is incredibly powerful. No attempt on your part to “hold the moment” is capable of stopping it. This is frightening if you see yourself as a powerless passenger who has accidentally boarded the wrong train and now cannot get off.

But if you look at time as a servant, the center of gravity shifts. The question is no longer how to stop it, but where to direct it.

Time does not “do” the work for you; it simply provides the space in which you can do that work. If there are neither clearly defined events nor steps toward them, the servant will remain without a task, and the tool without application.

Quote from the book that piqued me:

💐 "When making every decision or taking every action, ask yourself: What kind of person will this make me in the future?"

Each line of the book made me ponder my thoughts about time and how it affects us in the present, future, or planning. I was engrossed by the narrative and mind-boggling facts.

Overall, it is a slow process to imbibe and a life-changing read.

Unboxing India: A Billion Dreams, a Limitless Future by Dr Joseph K. Thomas

Unboxing India: A Billion Dreams, a Limitless Future by Dr Joseph K. Thomas

The “Unboxing India” is about India in transition. Here, the author demonstrates how problems can be transformed into opportunities, where tradition meets innovation, and how the aspirations of a billion people shape the future. Education innovators are rethinking how children learn.

The author has vividly depicted India's manufacturing dream. Though this dream is a bit difficult but possible. It simply requires unlocking our true potential and becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse.

Even the movement towards skill development and shift of people towards digitalisation. Technology is becoming part of everyday life, from small shops that accept UPI payments to farmers using mobile apps for real-time weather updates.

Each chapter discusses and illustrates the progress of India and how a little effort from the people of India can make the country a global superpower or the top economy. His clear and easy-to-dive-in techniques make it easy to understand the facts and changes in India.

The author has effectively written about strengthening defence and aerospace, providing healthcare for all, promoting unlimited tourism, and much more. In a few chapters he has attempted to touch all vital points and explain how the United India can make it a superpower.

Overall, this is an interesting and insightful read.

Days with My Red Flag Girlfriend

Days with My Red Flag Girlfriend

"Days With My Red Flag Girlfriend" is a thought-provoking book. It indirectly conveys the fantasy of dating, gathering attention through social media, Gen Z aesthetic lies and much more.

It depicts how today's generation prefers to live their lives or present themselves attractively through Instagram stories, WhatsApp screenshots, unread messages, and the silent conflicts that occur behind glowing phone screens.

The story begins with Vikrant Vayu, an ordinary middle-class college student in Delhi. He accepts what appears to be an innocent dare from his friends to message Tara Neer, the campus Instagram sensation who carefully curated online life places her on a pedestal far above his own.

It is a setup that could easily have become another predictable college romance. Instead, the book slowly dismantles that expectation. It begins with awkward messages  happening most of the time during day and night. Gradually this messaging transforms into friendship, companionship, affection, and eventually love. The early chapters possess an infectious warmth.

Instead of being scripted, their conversations seem impromptu. Instead of exaggerated romantic gestures, their chemistry develops through everyday moments, allowing readers to emotionally invest without feeling duped.

I admire their Campus walks, chai dates, teasing conversations, shared dreams, and quiet moments of emotional vulnerability. This slowly builds up their  relationship that feels believable because it is rooted in everyday intimacy rather than cinematic fantasy.

The author's prose deserves praise for its accessibility. It does not aim for elaborate literary flourishes or linguistic complexities. Instead, it focuses on conversational candour. The simplicity of the language becomes an asset, allowing emotional moments to breathe without being obscured by fancy writing.

Several passages linger because they capture familiar feelings with surprising precision. It proved that emotional truth often matters more than stylistic extravagance.

What made this book work for me is that it skips the usual fairytale stuff. Once the honeymoon phase wears off, real-life problems creep in. You see how hard it is to balance a serious relationship with a demanding, fast-paced job and how easily communication breaks down when insecurities take over.

Vikrant loves Tara deeply, but his fear of losing her starts creating serious friction between them. The red flags here do not come from one person just being toxic or bad. They arise from common issues that people encounter daily: miscommunication, overthinking, and the pressure to maintain a facade online while their real life is crumbling.

Overall, it is a quick read, but it makes you stop and think about how easily unresolved doubts can ruin something genuine.

Potential Suspect A Gripping Courtroom Drama | Crime Thriller Court room drama by Ashok Bhasin

Potential Suspect A Gripping Courtroom Drama | Crime Thriller Court room drama by Ashok Bhasin

"Potential Suspect" is a gripping psychological thriller. I was engrossed in the story that I completed the book in one go.

The story begins with Nishant Joshi taking his last lecture of his criminal law students of their last semester. He introduced them to criminal laws and the criminal procedure code. Then he began with a case study that was the inspiration for many students as they get inspired by his oratory skills.

I enjoyed the legal background of the story and the way Shalini approaches facts and scrutinizes each detail as a lawyer. She spends time around case files investigating about the details of the Shobha murder case. She tries to figure out the approach taken by the defence lawyer Hansraj.

She takes up a job at his office smartly and listens to his discussions, court procedures. She blends well with the people working within that system, and finds out the loop poles of the case and the suspects differ with every page.

The author has well penned the legal facts and the manner in which the case is turned upside down with money. The writing is straightforward and the story moves at a comfortable pace.

I found myself wanting to know how far Shalini would go once she started connecting the pieces, especially because every answer seemed to come with consequences of its own.

I also liked the emotional conflict around her fiancé. Shalini has to decide how far she is willing to go for the truth without putting the people she loves at risk.

For me, the biggest hook was the single point of law that could change everything. It made me want to know: Will Shalini finally get justice, or will the powerful people around her silence her?

Overall, it is a gripping read for anyone who enjoys legal mysteries with family drama and revenge at the centre.

When Longing Becomes Dangerous: A Look at Sanjay Tamta’s If Longing Could Kill

When Longing Becomes Dangerous: A Look at Sanjay Tamta’s If Longing Could Kill

There is something inherently unsettling about a quiet mountain settlement. The mist conceals more than the landscape, isolated cottages seem to hold their own secrets, and familiar faces can become strangers when darkness falls. Sanjay Tamta’s If Longing Could Kill embraces this atmosphere beautifully, creating a historical mystery where the stillness of the hills becomes the perfect backdrop for murder.

Set in Mansuri in 1952, only five years after India gained Independence, the novel takes readers to Ludor Hilltop, a secluded community surrounded by dense forests, steep mountain paths and an old cemetery. Life here appears peaceful, almost uneventful. The residents know one another, routines rarely change, and the outside world seems distant. Yet beneath this tranquillity lie old wounds, personal ambitions and secrets waiting to surface.

The mystery begins with a disappearance.

Sant Ram, the local milkman, notices something unusual about Gopal Dass, the young caretaker of Evelynn Cottage and the adjoining cemetery. For two mornings, Gopal's outhouse remains bolted from the outside, yet the light inside is still switched on. His absence does not feel ordinary, prompting Sant Ram to confide in his friend Nathu Lal, the local shopkeeper.

Their concern eventually brings Andrew Wilson, the owner of Evelynn Cottage, back to Mansuri and draws Inspector Dharamveer Tyagi into the investigation. What initially appears to be a missing-person case soon takes a much darker turn.

From here, Tamta builds a mystery populated by characters whose histories and motivations gradually become important to the investigation. Wilson, a Railway Police Inspector, has a complicated relationship with the young caretaker. Gopal, who arrived at the Hilltop after fleeing a troubled past, has found something resembling family and security at Evelynn Cottage.

But not everyone is happy with the place Gopal has earned in Wilson's life.

Jung Bahadur, the longtime caretaker, resents the trust Wilson places in Gopal. Elsewhere, wealthy realtor Amardeep Chaddha and his companion Devika have their own interest in the property. Ishwar Chand, a local businessman dealing in antiques and semi-precious stones, introduces another intriguing thread involving Wilson's family history and a possible hidden treasure.

And then there are the ghosts of the past.

Gopal's arrival in Mansuri is connected to a painful episode in his village involving love, social prejudice, misunderstanding and revenge. His past eventually catches up with him, adding another layer to a case already crowded with possible motives.

What makes If Longing Could Kill particularly engaging is the way it treats motive. Almost everyone seems to want something. Some characters long for love or belonging. Others seek revenge, wealth, security or possession. These desires do not necessarily make them guilty, but they create an atmosphere in which suspicion can fall almost anywhere.

At the centre of the investigation is Inspector Tyagi, a methodical and perceptive officer who approaches the case without being intimidated by status or reputation. Rather than relying on convenient assumptions, he examines inconsistencies, testimonies and seemingly insignificant details. A key, a bottle, a grave, a movement in the darkness—ordinary objects and events gradually acquire a new significance.

Sanjay Tamta also gives the novel a strong sense of place. The mist-covered mountains, isolated cottages, cemetery and forests are more than scenery. They contribute to the feeling of isolation that runs through the story. The historical setting adds another dimension, placing the characters in a period when society itself was undergoing profound change.

At its heart, If Longing Could Kill is a mystery about desire and its darker possibilities. It asks how far people can be pushed by the things they want—and what happens when longing becomes obsession.

With its atmospheric setting, multiple suspects, buried histories and steadily unfolding investigation, the novel offers readers a classic murder mystery with an unmistakably Indian setting and a strong psychological undercurrent.

Relife Conscious: Sudden Loss by Edison Vale

Relife Conscious: Sudden Loss by Edison Vale

"Relife Conscious:Sudden loss" is the first book in Relife Trilogy. It begins with an ordinary man who has no job but wishes to complete his book at any cost. He has a supporting and loving wife, Shrine.

One day he dreams of his wife accidental death. But the situation turned upside down when he realises that he is dead and the stakes become high and he begins in a paradox. Initially he is given a bottle of liquid that may change the whole set of events. What will he choose and why becomes the core thrill of the book?

Quotes from the book that piqued me:
🌹"Dreams blur at the edges. They carry the unmistakable softness of unreality even while you're inside them. "

🌹"The deeper you go into this place, the stranger reality gets. At some point, you stop asking whether things make sense and start asking whether they work. "

🌹"To save the universe, the oy thing you have to do is save the person you love the most".

The author has well penned the intricate relationship between nature and humans. His vivid imagination of dreams and dreams turning into reality is worth reading.

THE CHROMATIC WORLD ORDER: The Fiction That Rules Our World; A Brief History of its Genesis and Other Stories by Sajid Mohamed

THE CHROMATIC WORLD ORDER: The Fiction That Rules Our World; A Brief History of its Genesis and Other Stories by Sajid Mohamed

The claims of civilization or epistemic superiority remains trapped within the language of ethnocentrism. The book argues against race, and it's consequences.

It is a book that explains of the racial prejudices that is present in this International Law through evidence researched and gathered from history. It offers a rigorous examination of how contemporary international relations, legal systems, and diplomacy operate within a framework where historical racial hierarchies continue to dictate global power dynamics.

It explains why the UN and NATO were quick to jump in the condemnation and sanctioning of Russia following its war on Ukraine while it continues to slap Israel's wrists over the most grotesquely naked gen*ocide of the 21st century.

As per the book, history is rarely an objective record; when dominant political actors curate the archives, historical accounts become a theater of moral alibis. Mainstream historical frameworks easily condemn past figures or ancient horrors - such as Genghis Khan or Timur - because they are framed as anomalies, whereas the mechanized violence of Western modernity is continuously rationalized as necessary progress.

The reason that the West villifies Hitler while ignores King Leopold II is the same reasoning behind why they can successfully sanction Putin but struggle with the boycott, divestment and sanctioning of Israel.

A really insightful and dark observation of the text is how profoundly public visibility surrounding mass violence and gen*cides have changed in today's age.

He examines:

1. The Holocaust and Germany: How European racial logic shifted Jewish identity from a religious group into an immutable racial category, laying the legal groundwork for extermination.

2. Israel and Palestine: Modern military aggression in Gaza framed directly as an ongoing manifestation of settler-colonialism.

3. Middle East Military Interventions: A critical breakdown of Western actions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria.

4. Vietnam: The imperial hegemony and destructive assumptions behind Southeast Asian foreign policy.

5. South Africa: The mechanics of Apartheid as a legalized, state-enforced racial hierarchy.

6. Global Migration: How modern European border enforcement renders non-white lives expendable.

In the chapter named, "The Development", the author shares various facts about Dred Scott, various judgements made on different cases. His well researched facts brings to the notice about laws and it's effects on man kind.

In the chapter, " The Consolidation" the author talks about enlightenment. He shares varied theories by Immanuel Kant, and the scientific, philosophical and political developments that led to Enlightenment.

I was extremely hurt by the catastrophic picture of "Nsala of Wala " in the Naongo district. The fathers gaze at his daughters cut parts was heart wrenching. I was stunned by the heartless act of the rubber sentries.

Overall, it is an thought provoking read.

DHI Alchemy: Reset your Body’s Energy Frequency and Transform Your Life by Manjula Pooja Shroff

DHI Alchemy: Reset your Body’s Energy Frequency and Transform Your Life by Manjula Pooja Shroff

This book simplifies the complex elements of a life well-lived. It attempts to ignite the light hidden in all of us. I enjoyed the practical approach, small, practical steps to solve many issues. This book offers holistic, scientific solutions to real-life problems.

This book draws attention towards the mind-soul connection and how one can improve emotional and mental health as well. The DHI method promotes a holistic and 360-degree approach to life, which emphasises the importance of balancing the mental, physical and spiritual dimensions.

It showed me how to use the EFV concepts to raise vibrations across the mental, physical, and spiritual dimensions. As I am approaching my forties, it felt like a blessing to know how to reverse my ageing through embracing an anti-ageing lifestyle.  I learnt how to let go of trapped negative emotions in our body that could lead to illness and accelerate ageing.

Quote from the book that piqued me:

👌"Ageing is the accumulation of damage. If we can stop that from accumulating damage, we can stop ageing. We have all the knowledge we need to defeat ageing; the only question is whether we have enough time."

👌" Don't pause until the limitation no longer defines you. Replace limiting beliefs with an open, growth-driven mindset. Look at what can be done rather than what's standing on the way."

👌"Exercise has a dramatic antidepressive effect. It blunts the brain's response to physical and emotional stress."

The author emphasises that failure is reframed not as an end, but as a vital part of the learning curve, an experience that strengthens resilience and brings greater wisdom. Her vivid and easy-to-go-with 'do-it-yourself' approach makes it more accessible and imbibe-worthy.

Overall, it is a life-changing read.

Ratno ka Rahasya / रत्नों का रहस्य by Dr. Deepak Singla / डॉ. दीपक सिंगला

 Ratno ka Rahasya / रत्नों का रहस्य by Dr. Deepak Singla / डॉ.

The Cipla Story: A Legacy of Care by Archita Mitra

The Cipla Story: A Legacy of Care by Archita Mitra

If you have ever picked up a strip of everyday medication in India, chances are high that you were holding a Cipla product. But how did this pharmaceutical giant actually come into existence? That exact curiosity is what makes The Cipla Story such an engaging and surprisingly touching read. Though designed primarily as a book for young readers—complete with simple dialogues, interactive activities, and vivid illustrations—it carries a rich narrative that holds equal value for adults.

The story opens on a wonderfully relatable note. A grandfather, who spent a major part of his professional life working at Cipla, gets an invitation to attend the company's 90th anniversary celebrations. Excited about the milestone, he asks his grandchildren if they would like to tag along. Like most kids today, their initial reaction is lukewarm. They question why anyone would want to attend a corporate function for a medicine company and ask what could possibly be so special about Cipla.

That single question triggers an unforgettable story time. The grandfather takes them back to where it all began in 1935, introducing them to Dr. Khwaja Abdul Hamied. The narrative paints a clear picture of the immense struggles of pre-independence India, a time when foreign multinational corporations held a total monopoly over the pharmaceutical market. Local Indian ventures received virtually no grants or backing, and getting doctors to trust an Indian-made medicine was a uphill battle.

Despite these hurdles, Dr. Hamied pushed forward. He started the venture out of a small bungalow, rolling up his sleeves and handling half the manual labor himself. The book captures the true spirit of British-era entrepreneurship—asking friends for support, pitching to reluctant medical professionals, and slowly building credibility brick by brick.

As the timeline moves to 1947, readers see how Indian independence brought both fresh hope and new challenges. The narrative highlights the transition as Dr. Hamied’s children joined the effort, scaling up operations from basic painkillers and antibiotics to the bulk manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). Later on, leaders like Mr. Amar Lulla—who served as the head of finance and later became Joint Managing Director—stepped in to drive expansion, establishing world-class manufacturing plants in Goa and cementing Cipla’s vision to help India advance in science and research.

What truly elevates this book beyond a basic history lesson is its human heart. When the grandchildren finally agree to attend the event, they see the legacy come alive. They learn how Cipla pioneered affordable inhalers and reliable public information on lung health and asthma, breaking societal stigma along the way. The emotional core of the story rests in the grandfather reuniting with his old colleagues, sharing stories of how their hard work directly improved millions of lives across the country.

Top post on Blogchatter

"The Cipla Story" turns a complex 90-year journey of science, struggle, and patriotism into an accessible, inspiring tale. It is an uplifting, informative read that every family bookshelf would benefit from.

Extraterrestrial The Apocalypse Legacy by Dr. Siddharth Sen

Extraterrestrial The Apocalypse Legacy by Dr. Siddharth Sen

Have you ever thought of reaching in a zone where everything is free of cost but if you don't live properly then your account balance vanishes. In such situation how will you survive. I was stunned by the outline of this pocket book that shares a prophecy in the form of story.

This book is a mirror and a question that we must answer before it is too late. It lays bare the central truth: the apocalypse wasn't caused by an alien invasion. It was caused by seperation.

Each chapter unveis the need to save earth. Even in world eco summit, Aarav speaks of infection and not a theory. The team has to fight against time to get things correct. The operation Mirage made it more riveting.

Dr. Sen has well penned the extraordinary story in Nexu- an alien entity that doesn't conquer with weapons. It harvests our loudest frequency: greed. He clearly depicts that Earth has forgiven us a thousand times. But forgiveness has limits. And silence has meanings.

I appreciated the way varied timelines gives you a glimpse of future happenings if we, humans do not correct ourselves.

Overall, it is a mystery story that defies easy categorization and demands our attention.

Firebound Series - Book 1: Emerald to Steel by V.L. Nilsson

Firebound Series - Book 1: Emerald to Steel by V.L. Nilsson I really enjoyed how Firebound: Emerald to Steel takes a rugged Viking setting...
