Varahas Vengeance by Arun Krishnan | Book review

 Book review:

After reading Nandi's Charge I was so intrigued in the story that I was eager to unfold the next part.
"Varaha's Vengeance" picks up where Nandi's Charge left off. It is a thrilling, exciting sequel where readers follow Pulikeshi's response to the challenge posed by the young lion from Kanchi.

The story reaches its next level and works on two levels. First, the political battles between the Pallavas and the Chalukyas for supremacy in region continue, riveting readers with the machinations and conspiracies. The narrative also gives a glimpse into the world of that time, show casing the vapour and chivalry of that era.

On the second level, our heroes progress to the next stage of their quest. Elango, Muthuvel and Kannan continue to deliver for their king, making new friends, enemies and falling in love along the way.

Backed by their powerful allies, the Chalukyas spare no effort in their attempts to decimate the Pallava army. The very survival of the Pallavas hangs in the balance. Can they withstand the unbridled force unleashed by the resurgent Chalukyas or will they succumb to the overwhelming might of their adversaries? Can they rally their defences before all is lost?

I adored the power of young soldiers who had the capability to walk faster than they could on a horse ride. There were so many hidden topics that intrigued me to think about the difference of loyalty and betrayal by the fellow rulers. Their self esteem through their ego issues was the basic reason of so many conflicts.

I appreciate the part where Sanghamitra rose her voice to be part of state craft and actively take part in all political affairs and decision. Though it was not easy for her but her stubborn vision paved the way for her and she was granted her wish.

Like wars happening in this era, wars or battles of that era also caused a lot of destruction. I was touched by the line in book: " But the seige machines were causing immense damage to the fort walls. There is no way to fight that. All you can do is take cover and hope that some rock doesn't have your name written on it, thought Elango."

I was too captivated in the narrative and each step taken by the either side of the armies was giving me goosebumps and my urge to know the next step grew stronger. Even the little scenes of the heroes portraying their love was also sweet.

The author has out done himself in the second instalment of the Battle of Vathapi trilogy. The battle scenes unfold themselves before the reader's mind, adding a breathtaking sense of "What happens next?" Before you know it, you are at the cliffhanger of this compelling page-turner that makes you wait for the next instalment with a bated breath. Top post on Blogchatter

Overall, this book acts as a milestone in the genre of historical fiction. It is engrossing, detailed and fascinating that will transport the readers to a time gone by.

The author has put forward so many questions raising awareness about love, relationships,  social responsibility and many more. The language of the book is evocation and engrossing.  His peculiar way of bringing complexities of relationships is praiseworthy.

Each chapter begins with a verse of a Hindi song and Hindi quotes and anecdotes add to the narrative.  The readers are taken on an incomplete quest and how it can be made complete.

Overall,  it is a compelling read. Worth reading,  do grab it!

Whispers of Womanhood: Fictional Echoes of Feminine Stories | Story of a young girl

Whispers of Womanhood: Story of a young girl

Harshita was playing in the garden waiting for her parents in the vicinity of her grandmother. Her parents are working in an office and complete their responsibilities with zeal. She is grappling with her loneliness by playing games with the children in the neighbourhood or her cousins. She gets to spend time with her parents only in the evenings after coming from tuition or meal time. After having dinner, she used to watch some T.V. and then go to sleep and be prepared for the next day's routine.

This was her daily routine waking up, getting ready for school, having little titbits of bread and boarding the tonga to go to school. After attending the school, she was welcomed by her grandmother who used to serve her cooked food made by her mother in the morning. Both used to relish each other's company and wait for her mother's arrival who used to come after one and a half hours of her arrival. In the meantime, she used to finish her lunch and change her clothes. Either she chose to play or rest for some time before she started studying.

At the tender age of seven when she was experiencing changes in her body the children in the neighbourhood could also feel the difference in her. As it goes with every girl, a girl should be well protected and given awareness about her private parts frankly at the appropriate time. But she didn't get this training or even hints from her elders as they considered it irrelevant at this age. But fate decided something else.

As she usually went to play in the evenings. She got trapped by one of the boys in her neighbourhood, Akhil. He used to dislike her and made fun of her. But he was a year older than her. He used to watch his parents performing sex during the night but could hardly understand its meaning. That half-knowledge of this act and fear of someone noticing him watching thought of a sinister plan of enjoying this act without letting anyone know about it.

Akhil thought that Harshita was an introverted girl who hardly noticed or had any friends or could be easily manipulated. So he started making use of her innocence. He used to call her in a secluded place nearby where no one could ever think anything wrong was happening. He started playing with her private parts and allowed her to touch his private organs and enjoy the feel. Harshita initially felt that it was love as seen in movies and soon started enjoying it with him.

Time passed by both started hiding in secluded places and enjoying touching the private parts of each other and kissing. It became their daily ritual. No one could notice their private meeting. One day when Harshita's mother informed her that they were moving to a new place. Their secluded meetings came to a halt.

A year passed and one day when Akhil visited Harshita's house, he expected the same from her. But his desires were put in shatters when Harshita refused him sternly. On his forced attitude, she sought the help of her grandmother. But she didn't dare to disclose her fear or reason for screaming. Her grandmother could understand her silence but didn't want to put her family's reputation in trouble so she dug deep into this secret.

Harshita is now 20 years old and this incident is still fresh in her thoughts. At this age, she ponders on the reasons for her silence. Was she scared of something? Was she hesitant to share her thoughts or did deep inside feel that this was wrong and could be punished? Why she didn't dare to say what was going on in her life to her mother also?

It is a fact that girls are considered to be sacred but are exploited by the close ones. Children feel that it is their way of expressing love but the truth is far away from reality. Some adults or even older boys take the benefit of closeness or trust bestowed on them to exploit the young girls and enjoy the moment.

Harshita has now understood the urge to be friendly with her parents so that the little girl has the right to openly share her opinion and what's happening in her life. She could easily accept that girls are the mother's queen and should not be afraid to fail. They should not be suppressed to maintain family reputation.

Harshita took a vow that she would never let this gap lie between her and her kids so that her kids never hesitate to share their deepest secrets with her. A friendly and jovial nature among parents and kids is essential for the healthy well-being of a kid.

The Asura Way: The Contrarian Path to Success by Anand Neelakantan | Book review

 Book review:

"The Asura Way" fills in as both an enrapturing story and a significant philosophical request, empowering readers to embrace equivocalness, challenge the customary way of thinking, and outline their own way towards progress in the present complex and steadily impacting world. In this book, the readers get to figure out the other perspective on any circumstance. One faces any obstacle in an asura way or authentic way. The two techniques encourage you to do the undertaking yet it really depends on you how to channel your energy.

The author pours light on the way that It isn't "you are what you should be," but "what you want to be." You will become meriting anything assuming you want it enough. Anybody effective here and there or one more has craved results, envisioned them, imagined about them, and worked for them. Nobody has accomplished anything without unequivocally wanting it. In this way, the main move toward the Asura approach to everyday life is Want.

Want can prompt wretchedness if you carry on with a daily existence lacking equilibrium and discipline or on the other hand on the off chance that you have not tracked down your motivation. Hopelessness and bliss are essential for life; they travel every which way constantly. One can't have bliss without wretchedness. One can't have both without want.

The book goes into different truisms, including "Stay away from Lobha" and "Stay away from Moha," uncovering the imperfections in these apparently timeless suggestions. Drawing motivation from fantasies and stories, the author masterfully recounts the tales to demonstrate the way that carelessly following these colloquialisms can prompt unfulfilled objectives and botched opportunities.

It capably winds around exhortation drawn from stories, outlining the hazards of outrage, want, desire, voracity, and connection, while underscoring the significance of understanding and controlling these feelings for progress in this day and age.

By and large, the book is an assortment of misleading pieces of advice given and how one can positively utilize these negative contemplations to get through progress and lead to your objective. Worth reading, do grab it!

In "Niching Up: The Narrower the Market, the Bigger the Award" by Chris Dreyer, readers are given a provocative and keen investigation of the idea of niching in the business world. This book digs into the possibility that reducing one's objective market can prompt better progress as well as a more significant and effective business technique.

Be that as it may, one region where "Niching Up" could be improved is in giving a more careful examination of alternate points of view and difficulties connected with speciality specialization, especially from the stance of the creator's skill as a Website design enhancement proficient.

The idea of this book is to urge individuals to go after the speciality market rather than swarmed markets as well as figure out the significance of turning into a specialist nearby by gaining from different specialists. All things considered, mastery in the speciality market will help the money manager over the long haul, as well as thinking about that schooling is progressing and turning out to be more effective in the space of decision as of now puts the money manager at a benefit. The book gives a larger number of benefits than burdens yet clarifies that while one of the benefits is no contest, that benefit probably won't stand the test of time.

The author draws upon genuine models, contextual analyses, and his encounters to represent the advantages of niching up. Dreyer's composing is clear and draws in, making complex business ideas open to a large number of readers. The Unfakeable Code®: Take Back Control, Lead Authentically and Live Freely on Your Terms by Tony Jeton Selimi | Book review

Book review:

The Unfakeable Code is a fundamental manual for improving a rendition of yourself and an extraordinary pioneer by accomplishing greatness. It is a new and robust methodology for business, personal or professional transformation. It assists in upgrading your psychology and harmonising your body-mind heart intelligence so that it can deal with any form of anxiety, conflict, and stress.

It helps you see the hidden order that exists in all that life represents and diffuses judgments with objectivity so that you can develop more grateful states of love and vitality. It enables you to create inside-out authentic transformations that you as an individual, partner, parent, business owner, and leader are seeking.

Tony starts the book by portraying his life as a youngster and uncovering every one of the battles he had, for us all to peruse and be a piece of. This has made the book woken up for me. How he has featured the hardships he needed to confront and persevere and the way he conquered them all makes the reader ready to connect with those issues. Nonetheless, he likewise gives a feeling of trust that anybody can conquer such difficulties.

In the five focal standards, he shows that the fascination of our times for the fakeable and inauthentic, for exteriors and props, for making our lives dependent on the decisions and assumptions for other people (or our thought process are their assumptions) drives us to the impasse of self-duplicity and visually impaired conceit. The book is loaded up with his own and other people's genuine stories, strong similitudes and tales, and drawing upon profound customs and lessons, science, innovation, and current brain research.

The more they learn how to live in alignment with their true authentic self, the easier it becomes for them to embrace their authentic power. The clarity that emerges from within gives them the confidence to express their highest version and vision of themselves.

Tony J. Selimi, offers us an invigorating method for taking a gander at credibility - from objectivity as opposed to one-sided assessments of our transient personas. His lessons are enlightening the way to mankind's development, by uncovering the difficulties we end up in, the responses to knowing our otherworldly insight inside, and how to not exclusively to figure out it yet to know it and use it to be everything that could be been in this life. His methods of articulation aren't anything not exactly the brightness and completion of affection, consolation and backing for you to develop, develop, develop.

Generally, The Unfakeable Code® offers you a basic method for involving devices for regular daily existence. It is about on a very basic level changing how you approach each basic part of your life: otherworldly, mental, profound, physical, relationship, social, business (profession and work), and riches, so you can openly manage in the seat of your spirit's realm, your heart.

Investing your time, energy and money to learn how to take off the masks safely and face your true authentic self is the best gift you can give to yourself; and it never loses its value.

I subsequently energetically prescribe this book to individual entrepreneurs, guardians, teachers, advisors, and each lady keen on knowing how to assume back command and carry on with life unreservedly on their conditions.

Maithili - Establishing Sita- Rama Rajya by Palak Vashisth | Book review

 Book review:

Maithili is a fanciful fiction and an exceptional retelling of the occasions described in the Ramayana. Occurring in the occasions soon after the conflict against Ravana, the book is a discourse on the social separation predominant during those times.

In the charming city of Ayodhya, where Urmila, the spouse of Lakshmana, ends up trapped in a snare of old traditions and cultural standards. As she wrestles with the intricacies of Slam Rajya, she turns into the improbable courageous woman battling against the shameful acts hiding underneath the brilliant mainstays of the realm.

Vashisth's story isn't simply a retelling; it's a disclosure, offering a new point of view on age-old stories and reigniting the blazes of women's rights and libertarianism. The creator's narrating ability revives the story, offering a rich investigation of feelings and occasions. This book not only presents a nuanced understanding of an immortal epic but also fills in as a demonstration of the dauntless strength and fortitude of its focal person.

Vashisth's composing resembles a very much created song, easily moving starting with one page then onto the next. Her exposition hits the dance floor with distinctive symbolism and dynamic language, laying out an image so clear you can nearly hear the reverberations of Ayodhya's clamouring and roads. With a story voice as strong as Urmila's soul, Vashisth guides us through an existence where each word is a brushstroke on the material of our creative mind.

To put it plainly, Maithili fills in as a convincing investigation of Ayodhya, digging into significant subjects of equity, custom, and the steadfast versatility of the people who challenge the laid out standards.

Short stories | Miss D's Tales And Verses For Midnight's Children by Deepa Ragunathan | Book review

 Book review:

"Miss D's Tales And Verses For Midnight's Children" is a close-to-home odyssey, with snapshots of sheer happiness and significant misery. It is a collection of short stories and heartwarming poems.

The legitimacy with which the author catches human feelings makes the reader's experience profoundly moving, with specific stories and sonnets making a permanent imprint on the heart. Her writing is a fragile dance of words, where each step is estimated and each turn is effortless. Her composing style — liquid and reminiscent — manoeuvres you into the profundities of her stories, making you an observer of the lives spreading out inside the pages.

A verse from the book that piqued me:

"A woman in a man's world,
She is the detective few can be.
When I saw her on the news,
She stole my heart from me.
A killer with a story to tell."

The account voice, intelligent and private, goes about as an aide through the labyrinths of human inclination, making every story read as well as felt. The smart utilization of unexpected developments and the interspersion of sonnets among the accounts add layers of surface to the understanding experience, making it lavishly fulfilling.

The subjects handled in the book — from the delicacy of adoration to the quest for one's spot on the planet — are delivered with creativity and profundity, welcoming readers to ponder their own lives through the crystal of the account.

Generally, a must-read for anybody who trusts in the extraordinary force of narrating. Anticipating the author's future works, one can expect more fortunes that charm, challenge, and solace. Highly recommended!

My journey of motherhood| Tips for mothers with ASD children

My Journey of Motherhood:

To date, I remember how I was rushed to the hospital as I was feeling uneasy and could not feel any movement inside the womb. I got hospitalized in an emergency and tests were conducted. I was on a regular checkup by the doctors every hour and after some time I was advised not to eat or drink after this hour. I was too dumb to understand the situation.

In the morning, when I woke up the doctor who was handling my case came to check me and bombarded me when I mentioned that I drank a glass of water. His anger had no limits and he scolded the staff for not supervising me properly. In a fraction of a second, a decision was made. I was prepared for my c-section. But I was not mentally prepared for it, I started making lame excuses but to no avail.

At last, I was taken in the OT and the process started. I was only able to hear the idle banter of doctors and nurses inside. After some time I heard the first cry of my child and I forgot all my pains. The doctor brought forward my child and showed me her face. I felt super lucky.

My child was handed over to the family and I was shifted to the main ICU for proper care. After a few hours when I gained my senses, I could feel my child lying next to me. I was happy to have my first child but was unhappy at God's decision that she was suffering from ASD. By the time all members were informed they started visiting as per their timings.

Everyone welcomed the first child of the house with joy and distributed sweets. Everyone blessed the child and wished her good health. My first hurdle started when I was asked to feed. I was not able to turn or take a position to feed. My breast pained when nurses helped me to suck out milk. My baby was crying for milk and I was not able to feed. But after my consistent efforts, I could feed my child. It was a beautiful experience that every mother relished.

On that day I took a vow that I would breastfeed my child as long as I could because somewhere I read mother's feed is the best medicine for infants. Everyone who pops up to meet the newly born or the mother hardly gives any advice because they feel you are mature enough to take care of. For me, it was a new life where I had to keep my spirit high and take care of my child. Doctors gave me a positive reassurance that the hole may get closed on its own with time.

On the hospital bed, I was mostly seen feeding my baby. At that time also it never struck me why other kids were fed by mothers after two hours and I was feeding my kid every half an hour. My negligence caused me in big trouble later. After five days, I was sent home. I was in my fantasy that everyone was on my service and would take care of me. Yes, everyone took good care of me. I was served food and all the necessary items in my bed.

But all my fantasy ended in a mere 15 days when I was brought back to reality that you need to be back to work; cook food, wash clothes and take care of your child. I never feared challenges but your body should support you. My body didn't support me as I felt drained out after every feed and my baby longed to be with me and as soon as I lay her down on bed, she used to wake up.

At that time I realised that one has to take his/ her responsibility and no one cares how much pain you suffer. They only need their work done with perfection else there is a long list of comparisons.

Have we not fed our children?

Every woman faces the same issues.

We did it with perfection so why can't you?

But in all this chaos, your close ones forget that every pregnancy is different and so is motherhood. Every mother has her unique experience. Instead of support, I was so mentally harassed that I ignored my health and started doing my responsibilities.

Time passed by and I was informed by the doctor that the hole instead of reducing is always found increasing. My little bit of mental peace that was left all started to shatter. Everyone showed their support from far away but none had the guts to stand next to you when you were in pain. It made me completely stubborn and I treated all the relatives with little due respect on their arrival and not exaggerating with plenty of gifts. I became practical.

My sleepless nights, waking up every half an hour to feed and doing endless household chores by handing over my kid to another family member for some time became life whenever I remember those days. I left breastfeeding my kid after one and a half years. My kid was mature enough to accept it but she left drinking milk thereafter. To date, it's hard for me to make her drink milk in vain. In case I tried to use any trick, she vomited out all that she took along with whatever was in her stomach. Thereafter I left trying also.

I made a lot of mistakes and learnt a lesson later in life and by that time it was too late. But now when my child had her heart surgery last year, I took a sigh of relief that now my child is fine. I want to share some of my tips that every mother should follow.

Tips for mothers who have children with ASD:

1. Breastfeeding

Breast milk is best for kids but the child doesn't need to suck it directly. Mothers can notice that during sucking milk child has to put up a lot of effort and tyres up soon. So instead of each time making them suck milk, suck your milk out in a sterile container and serve the baby with either spoon or bottle. Breast milk is unaltered till six hours after it's sucked out at normal temperature.

Eg. If you take out your milk at 6 a.m. then you can feed your child by noon.

2. Hygiene

It is essential to keep your baby in the best hygiene as they are readily prone to infection. Try your best to protect your child from chest infection and don't take your baby out in changing weather. A sudden change in weather from cold to warm or vice-versa can cause big trouble.

3. Understand the little signal of your child

As a mother, it is very difficult to cope with postpartum depression and stand firmly or even understand your child especially when you are a first-time mother. No proper guidance or support can cause blunders. To save yourself from these, seek medical advice and try to remain calm. If you are calm then only you will be able to find out what your child wants to convey. Every child is unique so is his/her method to convey. Keep an eye and soon with time, you will acknowledge the difference. Help yourself, help your child.

4. Proper diet

Doctors advise you to breastfeed your child for 6 months strictly and no other food/water. After six months you can try giving them liquid or water but be cautious and try only one thing at a time. Check all the symptoms and then move to the next food item.

5. Be strong

For a newborn baby, his/her mother is only the first link or relation that he/she can rely upon. So for your baby, you need to forget everything and stand firm for your child with a smile.

Conclusion

Motherhood is a beautiful experience for all mothers. Mothers need moral support and a simple push positively and they can do anything for their kids. Whether you give birth by a normal delivery or c-section the family should understand that it's her new life. Mother also needs rest for at least 40 days before assuming to work. Whatever we do frames our child's behaviour so stay positive, be practical and stop expecting from anyone.
