Kaliyuga: Awakening of the Phase

Kaliyuga: Awakening of the Phase by Harsheath Chauhan

"Kaliyuga : Awakening of the Phase” by Harsheath Chauhan is a book that completely pulled me into its world of mythology, destiny, and intense battles—both physical and emotional. After Gautam fails to awaken his chakra in the previous book and sees the future through Kali's visions, this is the second book in the Kaliyuga series.

The story follows Gautam Yadav as he gets closer to his fate as the prophesied Kalki Avatar. But this isn’t just about being a hero—it’s about doubt, struggle, and tough choices. The visions of betrayal, the deepening mysteries, and the tension between characters kept me hooked. Every time I thought I understood a character, something surprising happened.

He stops trusting his own guru because he gets to know that his guru will be the one to kill his lover and who betrayed them in the Swapan Lok. But is Veeraram the only one deceiving him, or are there many other people who have deceived him over his lifetime?

He has to overcome his fears as the country is on the verge of civil war, and he needs to try his best to protect the people and fulfil his destiny as the Tenth Vishnu, which he is still sceptical about being his.

Betrayal is the only thing that can either break a person to the limit that they can’t come back from, or it makes the person so strong that they will become undefeated for life. Will the betrayal by his trustworthy people make him or break him? Will he be able to embrace his destiny, or will it break his consciousness and his belief?

The saga that left you wondering 'Is Gautam Kalki or Kali?' continues, but the puzzle pieces have shifted. You're no longer left searching for answers to 'who', but 'why' and 'how'. At that point, things take an exciting turn, and you realise how skilful Harsheath is at conjuring up a story.

The book moves quickly and goes into great detail, and it's clear that the author did a lot of research. I loved how the story was filled with twists and turns, especially as I got to know more about Veeraram, who is supposed to train Kalki.

The book also mentions some religious scriptures, and all of them have the same philosophy of fate: "Everything that happens is meant to happen." The author has beautifully blended everything and used it to write this engrossing book. The language used is easy and beginner-friendly. The cover page and title are perfect for the book.

Chauhan’s writing is sharp and vivid, drawing you into a world where every twist matters. The suspense is palpable, and the themes of dharma, good versus evil, and self-discovery are explored in ways that make you reflect long after you’ve finished reading.

In general, anyone who enjoys reading about mythology should read this book. If you love stories that mix mythology with modern elements, this sequel is even more exciting than the first one.

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness by Deekay

Taming the Turbulent Mind: Yogic Meditation and Mindfulness for Combating Overthinking, Achieving Stress Relief, and Attaining Absolute Peace  Deekay | Book Review What is turbulence? Any thoughts, or have you ever tried to tame any animal? I remember watching circus shows organised once a year in the city's open area for all the locals to enjoy. There I used to cherish the person who tamed the elephants or the lion (if any). But today I thought of taming my mind. Every second our thoughts are randomly moving and giving us goosebumps. Nowadays people have so many threads of work looming in their minds that they feel like completing but fail to prioritise. To dive into a river is not easy. But only a few people have the calibre to do that. The same is true with diving in your mind. This practice needs calmness of mind and anxiety levels to be very low. I had heard about meditation and its techniques to apply in your daily routine, but when I stumbled upon this book, my myths w...
