The Kidney Scam: True story of busting India’s biggest human organ trafficking scam ǀ A true crime that shocked the nation by Kiran Nirvan | Book review

Book review :
Donation of organs is divine but can this divine work turn out to be money making business and exploit poor people in lieu of wealthy or happy life ahead. Sounds weird but true for money longing persons or heartless or sensitive persons. The book embarks the reader on a journey of exploring pains of ditched victims who pave the way of unraveling the faces of culprits.

"THE KIDNEY SCAM" brings out gruesome, chilling details of cold-blooded crimes that  sheds light on the depths of inhumanity and the call for righteousness.  The book keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eager to uncover the truth alongside the brave protagonists. Though the story narrates an evil that rocked Punjab and spread over to the entire world But the bravery and courage shown by the protagonists is outstanding.

The story takes an intriguing turn when three young medical college students, Kirti, Rahul, and Gurkirat, accidentally meet Hardial , a poor rickshaw driver with a fresh wound on the road. On enquiring about the wound he didn't tell the truth but on gaining little trust on them, he narrates his story and how he was threatened. Hardial never in his dreams thought of that his desire to give his family a happy life will turn around leaving him with loss of his kidney along with no energy to even pull his rickshaw even.

These three with their conscious to evoke justice for him .Little did they know that this encounter would lead them to uncover one of the nation's largest kidney trafficking operations. They started with investigations, lodging complaints and trying to secure him. But the path that seems so easy was quite dangerous and full of hazardous outcomes if failed.

The trio faces countless obstacles, including apathetic college authorities, doctors, and politicians, their perseverance and determination shine through. It is quite intriguing to read how they fight all the hurdles on the way and burst out the real culprits and hence bringing light on the kidney scam going on in Punjab.

Nirvan's writing paints a vivid picture of the gruesome reality behind the organ trade, leaving readers chilled to the bone. Narration of the story is vivid , fast-paced and straightforward. His deep research and detailing of the story is outstanding.

Overall, "The Kidney Scam" is a gripping and engrossing tale that keep the readers on their edge to wonder what will be the oucome of this encounter. Do grab this book for a riveting read.
