Criss Cross: Epoch 1: Guts & Gall by V.M. Crowbert | Book Review
The story begins with Dr Nell Good, a neurosurgeon who joins the hospital on his birthday. He expects everything to be perfect, but what awaits him are many twists and turns.
With a scientist who is a neurosurgeon, a guard in a suit is all set to visit some office while they encounter a lot of infected beings on the way, including a few weird creatures. As they navigate through the eerily silent corridors, Dr Good's heart races, battling both excitement and trepidation. The guard, who remains stoic despite the chaos, insists on moving forward, his steely resolve a stark contrast to the surreal horrors that lurk just out of sight.
The author has well-penned the conversations and created a gripping conversation. I was mostly engrossed in the illustrations as if they were speaking more of the words than the narrative.
The story helps you dive into the pandemic phase of that year and how people may react or survive in the critical conditions.
Overall, the book is gross and talks about cannibalism and inhuman creatures. The story kept me hooked, and the illustrations are worth it. I enjoyed reading this and would recommend this book to all.
