Gods of Hinduism by Manhar Sharma

"Gods of Hinduism" aims to simplify, interpret, and categorise Hindu gods/deities and divine figures. The insights presented here are based on the author's finite knowledge and familiarity with the religion. It aims to provide insights into the diverse and intricate nature of these deities, highlighting their significance within Hindu philosophy and culture.

The book touches not only on the impactful pieces of information about the most famous trinity of Hinduism, that is, Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar, but also on unfamiliar gods and goddesses. The rich history and aura of Hinduism are dominant in this book that ignites the curious minds who are eager to know about this great religion.

I learnt about the first journalist on Earth, who is known as the one who dispenses news and wisdom to everyone. The hidden meaning of the swastika aroused my curiosity to unfurl the mystery. The best part was the table showing Dashavatar Incarnations of Lord Vishnu. I was intrigued by the stories behind each incarnation.

Sharma has beautifully portrayed the pros and cons of religion, its dynamic faiths, the power of evolution, and its complexities. His deep research and details on the religion imparted vast information. He has included Sanskrit anecdotes and translated them for better understanding.

Overall, this book is a brief compilation of all deities of Hinduism and empowers the reader to find out the stories behind their divinity. I am really grateful to the author because I have learned many unknown things about my religion from the book. In my opinion, it is a fantastic book to know about one of the oldest religions in the world - Hinduism.

Any thoughts, or have you ever tried to tame any animal? I remember watching circus shows organised once a year in the city's open area for all the locals to enjoy. There I used to cherish the person who tamed the elephants or the lion (if any). But today I thought of taming my mind. Every second our thoughts are randomly moving and giving us goosebumps. Nowadays people have so many threads of work looming in their minds that they feel like completing but fail to prioritise. To dive into a river is not easy. But only a few people have the calibre to do that. The same is true with diving in your mind. This practice needs calmness of mind and anxiety levels to be very low. I had heard about meditation and its techniques to apply in your daily routine, but when I stumbled upon this book, my myths w...

The Psychology of Marketing: How Marketers Trick Us Into Buying More by Harinder Singh Pelia | Book Review Marketing is such an in-depth concept that it always transitions according to consumer preferences. The extent to which marketers go to sell their products will blow our minds away, as money comes first rather than people's needs. Even the bare detail that hints at our desires is manoeuvred to boost sales figures, often overshadowing the genuine connection between a brand and its audience. This relentless pursuit of profit can lead to practices that prioritise persuasive tactics over transparency, leaving consumers feeling manipulated rather than empowered. sales. How to make money might be in our control, but how money goes out of our pocket might not be, as psychology is in cohesion with marketing.
